About Nina

As a results-oriented therapist, I integrate practical interventions with insight and support in order to create change. My approach is eclectic and collaborative, emphasizing your strengths, helping you find your own answers, and teaching you new skills for improved living. I have a warm and easy-going style that allows for safe, confidential, and judgment-free counseling.

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with a graduate degree from Simmons College School of Social Work. I have been in private practice in Newton, MA for over 20 years, and have worked in a variety of settings including mental health centers serving families and children in the Blackstone Valley and adults and couples in the western suburbs of Boston. Most recently, I was the clinical supervisor for a mentoring program for six years in the Newton High Schools, training and supervising high school seniors who worked with special needs kids in the community.

My experience is multi-faceted and oriented toward psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral therapy. I have extensive training in the area of mindfulness awareness and meditation as it is used to treat anxiety disorders, eating disorders and stress related issues.

Professional affiliations and licensures include the National Association of Social Workers, Massachusetts Eating Disorders Association, and licensure as a school social worker and adjustment counselor in the state of Massachusetts.
